"Dolores Claiborne"
|
|
Kathy Bates stars in the title role of "DOLORES CLAIBORNE," a dramatic psychological thriller about a woman facing her second accusation of first degree murder. She is easily the most notorious character in the remote Maine town of Little Tall Island.
Jennifer Jason Leigh stars as her estranged daughter, Selena St. George, a successful New York journalist on the brink of a major story, who is abruptly forced to confront her past when her dreaded mother is suspected of homicide.
David Strathairn plays the part of Joe St. George, Dolores' late husband and first acquittal.
John C. Reilly is the young constable who is obliged to enforce the law on Little Tall Island by helping to formulate a case against Dolores, a fellow member of the close-knit, tight-lipped community.
Eric Bogosian has the role of Selena's editor at "Esquire Magazine," the man who motivates her return home after a fifteen year absence by enticing her with the assignment she covets so desperately.
Judy Parfitt is Vera Donovan, Dolores' aristocratic and notoriously difficult employer, whose suspicious death launches a sequence of events which unleash some of the island's most tenaciously guarded secrets.
Christopher Plummer is Detective John Mackey, the investigator from Bangor, Main whose jurisdiction encompasses Little Tall Island. He is determined to prevent Dolores Claiborne from getting away with murder...again.
All is revealed during a total eclipse of the sun.
